About the programme

For a greener, fairer economy

Building Greener is a free Dragon’s Den-style pitch programme delivered by Startup Discovery in collaboration with Islington Council and funded by Islington’s Carbon Offset Fund. It is an exciting new programme for ambitious entrepreneurs working on innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions from buildings within Islington and beyond. Through the programme, we are supporting Islington in identifying and investing in innovative solutions with the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions from buildings in the borough and beyond. Ten startups will be selected and invited to pitch their ideas in front of a panel. Selected startups received up to £15,000 in grant funding and had the opportunity to discuss piloting their solutions with the council.

Programme feedback

The programme is well structured and having an initiative around such a specific and much needed area is extremely valuable. The Dragon's Den was also very useful as it introduced me to a lot of other companies as well as very valuable connections.
